Painted Lion Cubs Figurine

This is a figurine of a pair of lion cubs playing made by the Schwarzburger Werkstaetten in the 20th century. It was designed by Etha Richter who was one of the most important animal modelers of the Jugendstil / Art Deco period. This is the painted version to the white one I also own. One lion is one top of the other that is lying down on his back. All on a rounded base. The figurine is in great condition with a firing line on the tail of the top lion from the making. The figurine is marked with the impressed fox mark as well as the artists initials I believe. The piece is 5.5 inches tall, 5.5 inches wide and 4.75 inches deep.
