Nice Bird Figurine

This is a figurine of a bird made by the Schwarzburger Werkstaetten in the earlier part of the 20th century when it was first designed. That means it is one of the rare original pieces and not a later copy! I think I ahve seens this design by Unterweissbach as well but that would be a bit later. The bird is superbly handpainted in very naturalistic colors and looks almost real. He sits on top of a thistle which is is pecking at. The piece is in perfect condition. It is 4.625 inches tall, 2.25 inches wide and about 4.375 inches long. The piece is marked with the impressed fox mark as well as the impressed model number I cannot make out easily but it seems to be U1098. Probably one of their last models.
