Pierrette Figurine

This is a large figurine made by the Schwarzburger Werkstätten für Porzellankunst in the early 20th century when it was first designed. She was modeled by the famous Mauritius Pfeiffer who originally was a sculptor I believe. His pieces are extremely collectible! The figurine is of a Pierrette (a female pierot) from the commedia dell'arte / Italian comedy which is one of the most popular fields for collectors these days. She is superbly modeled in the typical style for this designer and period. Funky hairdo and her top has the typical design to it for a pierot / pierrette with the rombus shapes to it that would have all sorts of different colors if it were to be painted and she has the slap stick by her side. Nice octagonal base with the name of the designer impressed into the back. The figure is in good condition with a hairline through one foot and up the leg a little. Hard to spot and it won't grow anymore - perfectly stable now. The edge of her top has some roughness to it and is discolored a bit from the firing process but that is mostly visible when you turn her over. She is 13.5 inches tall and the base is 5.25 inches wide and deep. The figure is marked with the impressed fox mark as well as U305 for the model number underneath. Also the impressed stamp stating Schwarzburger Werkstaetten fuer Porzellankunst and made in Germany in blue. Volkstedt still produces these figures nowadays but they have their blue mark with it then. The original period pieces are very hard to find so I was thrilled to own it!
