Gardner Miniature Lidded Dish

This is a really fun miniature lidded dish made by Safronoff in about 1835. The factory was in the village of Narotkaja neat Moscow and the factory was one of the most famous of this period. I think later it was part of the Kusnetzoff empire of factories. It's very hard to find peices by them and I ahve never seen a miniature piece of this quality except for the top German makers. It's a really fun tiny lidded terrine which is hand painted with a nice floral arrangement to the front and back, a single flower to each side, three single flowers to the lid, some pink trim and this amazing flower finial to the lid including leaves and and a flower bud. A really nicely done piece. And considering it was likely made for kids to play with it is definitely a very rare survivor! The piece is 1.625 inches tall including the finial, 1.5 inches wide and 1.25 inches deep. It is in perfect condition except for a big brown firing spot on the inside bottom from when it was made. The piece is marked on the underside lid with an underglaze blue C mark as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
