Safronow Plate

This is a porcelain plate made by the Safronow factory around 1820. It is handpainted in underglaze blue with puce jewels and flowers and a gold design on top. Quite decorative and very typical of this factory. The plate is in great condition with some wear to the gilding mostly around the center well and rim edge which can be expected from a plate that was made to be used. It is marked with an underglaze dark blue or black C looking mark used by Safronow from 1815 until 1840. The plate is 1.5 inches tall and 9 inches in diameter.
