Scenic Tankard

This is a superb scenic lidded stein / tankard made by one of the so called Royal Vienna makers in the late 19th century. An amazing piece that is hand painted with a large scene on the front of a couple in a landscape surrounding with the rest of the piece having that really nice cobalt blue ground color and some superb gold trim as well as some tiny raised white dots in the design over and under the scene. The lid has a scene on top with the same trim around is as the main body with another scene to the underside lid which can be seen once it has been opened. The mounts are brass or bronze and have a nice design to them as well. Finally a proper container for my weekend beer :) The piece is marked with the under glaze blue beehive or shield mark underneath. The entire piece is 6.75 inches tall (including the thumb piece of the mounts) and it has a bottom diameter of 3.625 inches. The tankard is in great condition with some wear to the gilding of the handle as shown but otherwise it is pretty much perfect. Please email me for more information or photos.
