Footed Scenic Cup & Saucer

This is a rare cup and saucer made by Royal Vienna in 1816. These are among the nicest cups and saucers one could ever own. Still heavily based on the Sorgenthal period with a ncie blue ground with a gold design on top as well as a nice gold trim. The cup sits on three nice ball and claw feet and has a wreath handle. The best part is the superb handpainted scene on the front of the cup. I am assuming it depicts the three graces but I might be wrong. Wish I could say the set is in perfect condition but it has a chip to almsot entirely the underside of the rim of the saucer but I am showing both the top and bottom view of it and the handle was off at some point. Also the inside gilding by the handle seems a bit off and it looks like whoever fixed the handle repainted too big an area (sadly a common practice and restorers) and it has oxidized a bit. Some one has removed most of it and I think with a good buffing that would come out. A tiny bit of wear to the blue ground of the saucer well. All in all the cup and saucer display perfectly! The cup is 3.25 inches tall plus the handle and 2.75 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 6.25 inches in diameter. Marked underneath with the underglaze blue shield mark as well as some impressed numbers including 816 as the date code on the saucer and 816 on the cup - the 8 being very very faint but it is there. Also a painters number 77 for Johann Geord Gmendt or Gment who won a few awards and was an excellent painter. He used the number after 1812. Please email me for more information or photos.
