Kakiemon Saucer

This is a saucer made by Royal Vienna in the 18th century - probably during their early years around 1750. It matches a Meissen cup perfectly that it came with - so much so that I think it was painted as a replacement piece for a broken saucer originally. It even has the typical red line trim to the underside like the original Meissen saucer would have had. The saucer is hand painted with a superb Kakiemon design including Chrysanthemum / Peony flowers as well as a butterfly in the usual style and color palette. Nice purple and red trim to the rim. The saucer is in good condition with a small flake chip as shown which does not show when on display. It is just under 1.125 inches tall and 5.25 inches in diameter. Marked with the under glaze blue shield / beehive mark as well as a red 12 and an impressed number which is not a date code since it is just a single digit. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $399
