Floral Plate #2

This is a really nice floral plate made by Royal Vienna in the 18th century before they started using the date codes in the 1780s. The piece is hand painted with a nice floral arrangement in the well of the plate with two smaller flowers filling in the rest of the space. The rim has a nice basket weave relief design to it with six more flowers over that and a brown trim to the edge. What is interesting regarding this piece is that it came in a set of eight plates all of which were painted by a different painter working for them so you can compare their styles and use of colors. Quite neat! I am listing them all separately. The painter in this case here is Johann Prohaska who worked for the factory from 1762 until 1787. The plate is in great condition with a few use marks but it displays superbly. I really like the flowers on this one! The plate is marked with the under glaze blue shield mark underneath as well as the painter's mark 44 and an impressed letter N near the footring as shown. A Z or something along those lines added into the glaze when it was made. The plate is 1.25 inches tall and 9.75 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or photos.
