Rosenthal Art Deco Wendler Indra Vase

This is probably one of the most famous and nicest Art Deco vases in the world of porcelain. It was made made by Rosenthal in the 1920's and the design is by Kurt Wendler who worked for Rosenthal from 1920 until 1930. The vase is handpainted with a design called Indra which is made up of heron like birds in the famous bright red of his and black, purple, blue and turquoise grasses with gold circular designs throughout. The vase has four feet which is unusual in this shape and the top rim has a fancy gold design as well. All in all one spectacular vase and unlike anything else I have seen over the years. The vase is marked underneath with the green Rosenthale mark with Selb-Bavaria underneath as shown in the pictures, then his mark - Kurt Wendler - in green and the painters mark Franz in gold who was a very accomplished painter at Rosenthal. The vase is about 4.5 inches tall and 5.125 inches in diameter. It is in superb display condition but does have a hairline on the rim as shown. It does not show when on display at all.
