Rosenthal Grotesque Foo Dog Figurine

This is a really neat porcelain figurine of a grotesque Shi / Foo dog / Chinese Guardian Lion made by Rosenthal in 1921-1922 so right from the time when it was first designed by Hand Küster which is rare. The dog is superbly modeled and hand painted in the funky colors of the Art Deco period. A superb looking figure! The figure is in great condition and is marked underneath with the green Rosenthal mark with Bavaria below and the two roses flanking the crown above. Impressed model number 69. The figurine is 1.875 inches tall, 1.125 inches wide and 1.5 inches deep. Please email me for more information or photos.
