Arabian Nights Figurine

This is a superb and rather rare figurine made by Rosenthal in about 1921/22 if I figured the mark out correctly. The figure is of Fatima the sister of Scheherazade a fictional character from the Arabian Nights / 1001 Nights stories. Almost impossbile to find these pieces! She is nicely modeled with lots of detail. Wearing a typical loosely flowing outfit with nice colors to them and a neat relief design to the white shirt top. She has her hair braided in the back, is wearing a turban while holding a flower in her right hand with the other hand covered by the sleeve of her shirt. A little urn on the back base and a bit of gold trim to the edge. The figurine is in perfect condition - there is a small flaw under the gilding on the back edge from when she was made. The figure is marked underneath with the green Rosenthal mark with Bavaria underneath as shown, with the model number 139 and the name of the artist R. Foerster impressed as well. Richard Försterin is more famous for designing the Moriskentaenzer at the Allach factory but he did a good amount of work for Rosenthal as well. The figurine is about 5.5 inches tall, 3.5 inches wide and 2.75 inches long. Please email me for more information or photos.
