Richard Klemm Birds of Paradise Coffee Pot

This is a small coffee pot with its lid made by Richard Klemm between 1888 and 1916. Likely of espresso or mocha coffee it is hand painted with their very collectible bird of paradise design including two scenes of colorful birds in a landscape surrounding with the rest of the space filled with scattered insects including butterflies, etc. Nice gold trim all around including the distinctive one to the top edge and around the edge of the lid. The lid also has some bugs painted on it as shown. Nice animal shape spout. We have collected this pattern for many years and while the plates are not super hard to find, the cups are fairly difficult to find and the main pieces almost impossible so here is your chance to complete the set if you are missing the pot. The piece is in perfect condition with a tiny manufacturing flaw on the inside spout which I tried to show. It is meaningless and does not show at all when on display and is hard to spot when you look for it as well. The pot and lid are 7.75 inches tall, 5.5 inches from hand to spout and 3.5 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath with the RK under a crown mark with the word Dresden under it printed in blue above glaze as well as an impressed number 3.
