Richard Garten Spoon

This is a great porcelain spoon made in the Dresden area around 1900. The handle is made of porcelain with a pink ground color to it some nice gilding and a few raised enamel dots to the flowers. The ferrule and spoon part are all made of Sterling silver by Richard Garten and are ornately decorated. The spoon is in superb condition with a spot of wear to the top of the handle. The silver is hallmarked with the 800 standard weight mark from Germany, the crescent moon and crown mark which were used after 1886 and the Richard Garten mark of a tree in a diamond shaped mark. He was active from 1860 until 1905. The spoon is 6.75 inches long, the handle that shows is 2.625 inches long and the bowl of the spoon is 1.375 inches by just over 0.75 inches. I also have the matching fork and knife on the site if anyone is interested. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
