Richard Garten Knife

This is a great porcelain & sterling knife made in the Dresden area around 1900. The handle is made of porcelain with a pink ground color to it some nice gilding and a few raised enamel dots to the flowers. The ferrule and blade part are all made of Sterling silver by Richard Garten and are ornately decorated with a fox chasing a rabbit. The knife is in great condition with wear to the gilding on the handle. The silver is hallmarked with the 800 standard weight mark from Germany, the crescent moon and crown mark which were used after 1886 and the Richard Garten mark of a tree in a diamond shaped mark. He was active from 1860 until 1905. The knife is 6.5 inches long, the handle that shows is 2.5 inches long and the blade part is 3.625 inches by 0.625 inches. I also have the matching spoon and fork on the site if anyone is interested. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
