Richard Garten Fork

This is a great porcelain fork made in the Dresden area around 1900. The handle is made of porcelain with a pink ground color to it some nice gilding and a few raised enamel dots to the flowers. The ferrule and spoon part are all made of Sterling silver by Richard Garten and are ornately decorated. The spoon is in superb condition with two spots of wear to the underside of the handle. The silver is hallmarked with the 800 standard weight mark from Germany, the crescent moon and crown mark which were used after 1886 and the Richard Garten mark of a tree in a diamond shaped mark. He was active from 1860 until 1905. The fork is 6.25 inches long, the handle that shows is 2.625 inches long and the fork part is 1.75 inches by 0.75 inches. I also have the matching spoon and knife on the site if anyone is interested. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
