Sterling & Porcelain Portrait Pin

This is a superb porcelain portrait with a fancy Sterling surrounding likely made in England in the late 19th century. The picture is of a dressed up lady wearing a fancy hat - she is Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire who was born 7 June 1757 and died the 30 March 1806. She was the fashion trend setter of her period. The portrait is handpainted and very detailed while the silver frame around the miniature is very well made, too. The pin is in great condition with the silver being tarnished and a tiny scratch on her hat. It is a heavy piece with a good amount of silver used. The whole piece is 2 inches wide and 2.375 inches tall with the portrait being about 1.375 inches by 1.75 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
