Popov Floral Cup & Saucer

This is a superb cup and saucer made by Popov in the earlier 19th century. And it comes with a nice provenance attached to it - It belonged to a direct decendant of Tikhon Nikolaevich who was the first son of the Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrova who in turn was the sister of Tsar Nicolas II and thus daughter of Tsar Alexander III . Interesting little bit of history. The set has a superb hand painted floral arrangement to it as well as two small flowers and another flower to the inside bottom of the cup. The pink floweris especially stunning - some sort of cone flower maybe? Nice orangey trim to the edge quite typical for this maker. The set is in perfect condition with a few minor manufacturing imperfections normal to their early pieces. Display perfectly and looks stunning! Both pieces are marked underneath with the underglaze Popow mark as shown in the center as well as a yellow 27 and impressed 7 on the saucer and an orange 27 and impressed 2 and 51 (I think) to the cup. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.25 inches in diameter. The cup is 1.875 inches tall and has a diameter of 3.125 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
