Water-Wagtail Bird Figurine

This is a figurine of a Water-Wagtail ( Bachstelze ) bird made by Nymphenburg in the mid 20th century just after WWII. First modeled by Franz Blazek in 1910 the figure is nicely modeled with the bird on the ground being supported by some grasses or reeds. The bird is really well painted as well. A very delicate looking piece with those thing legs. The piece is 5 inches tall, 3 inches wide and 5 inches long. It is marked with the impressed shield mark underneath with the model number 293 as well as the green shield mark with Nymphenburg under that and Western Germany in green under that. The front of the base has another impressed shield mark to it that was colored in blue and hard to spot by the back tail on the ground are the painter initials DP. The piece displays very nicely but has a tiny chip to the beak tip and a rough spot to the tip of one of the grasses though this is glazed over and from when it was made. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $249
