Swan Scene Plate #2

This is a rare and superb plate made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century - 1911 to be exact. It is hand painted with a scene that covers the entire surfact of the front by the famous artist Ludwig Carl Frenzel who always painted these swan scenes. The cups are a bit more common but these large scene on plates are very rare! The plate is hand painted in under glaze colors with a pair of swans swimming on a lake with some greenery in the background as well as a temple looking structure - called the Apollotemple near the Nymphenburg park by the castle. The colors are lighter than on the other example I know. A great plate that looks amazing and is in superb condition with a few scratches but it displays perfectly! It is marked with the green shield under the crown with Nymphenburg under it, the impressed shield mark as well as a green Roman numeral IV as shown. The piece is 0.75 inches tall and 9 inches in diameter. Signed by the artist Ludw. C.Frenzel and the number 11 for 1911. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $899
