Swan Cup & Saucer

This is a small cup and saucer made by Nymphenburg in the early to mid 20th century. They are painted in the Art Nouveau / Art Deco style with a nice gold trim and the cup has a portrait of two swimming swans on the front that is off course handpainted. The design is by Adelbert Niemeier from around 1906. This is the most expensive type of decoration of the Niemeier Service. The inspiration of this design were probably the ponds in front of the Nymphenburg castle with its swans. The cup is 1.75 inches tall and 1.75 inches in diameter. The saucer is 0.75 inches tall and 3.75 inches in diameter. Marked with the green shield mark with the word Nymphenburg underneath as well as some impressed numbers. Also in green the paintersmark O.L and a number 8. The set is in perfect condition. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
