Swallow Figurine

This is a really fun figurine of a swallow in flight made by Nymphenburg in the 20th century. Not a model you really ever come across and I have not seen it before. The bird is really well modeled in flight and painted in different shades of brown. The bird is flying over some sand and rocks since it seems to be a piece made for a the Bavarian Sand and Gravel Industry. The detail to the rocks are amazing - they look real be it a bit shinier than the real rocks :) The piece is 8 inches tall, 3 inches deep and 4.25 inches wide. It is marked with the impressed shield mark painted blue on a rock in the back as well as the artist initials and has the green shield mark and impressed shield mark on the underside with the model numbers and all the usual Nymphenburg marks. The back states - Ufer-Schwalben brueten in den Gruben der Bayerischen Sand- und Kies-Industrie. This type of swallow apparently nests in the ground holes left by the sand and gravel industry. The piece is in perfect condition. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
