Soldier Figurine #2

This is a fun figure of mischievous or laughing soldier made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century. Originally modeled by the famous Franz Anton Bsutelli in the mid 18th century they remade these figures in the late 19th and early 20th century and some of them are still made today. This is the rare early & polychrome version from when they just started doing this model again! The soldier is laughing at what would be his counter figurine - the lady whose dress is being ripped by a dog. His head is facing sideways while looking at her. He is dressed in uniform with both hands on the swords by his side with some greenery on the base and a tree trunk in the back with leaves coming out of it. Nice blue and gold trim around the front of the base. An early version of this model with the flat base and holes in the tree trunk rather than the underside of the base. The figurine is nicely modeled and hand painted with lots of detail. The figure has the impressed shield mark to the front of the base as well as underneath with the incised  numbers 169 and 3 as shown. The piece is great condition with a chip to a single leaf and another leaf was broken off as shown but I reglued it and it does not show. The figurine displays perfectly!. The figurine is 8.375 inches tall, 4.625 inches wide and 4.5 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
