Shetland Pony Figurine

This is a really fun figurine of a shetland pony made by Nymphenburg in the mid 20th century. This figurine is extremely popular with collectors mainly because it was designed by the famous Luise Terletzky-Scherf and the fact that it comes in many different color and slight design variations that are just plain fun to look at. New they cost around 3 thousand Euros which is a bit crazy but one can find them from time to time on the resale market. I'd highly recommend looking them up because they are such fun pieces! The figure is superbly modeled with some nice detail and hand painted nicely as well. A less crazy colored version than some but still very nice. The figurine is 6.125 inches tall, 1.875 inches wide and 4.875 inches long. Marked with the impressed shield mark on top of the base , the green shield mark with Nymphenburg underneath and impressed shield mark plus the number 989 ovwer 3 on the underside plus two painter's initials - LG and Lw.
