Awesome Puffer Fish Figurine

This is a really fun figurine made by Nymphenburg around the mid 20th century right after WWII. It is a puffer fish / puffers / blowfish / balloonfish / globefish / swellfish / toadfish that was modeled by the famous Luise Terletzki-Scherf who made so many other fun animal models! One of my all tiem favorites for sure! The figure is very playfully modeled with giant eyes and lots of spikes which are actually part of their skeletons which explains why they are so deadly to other sea creatures. A really nice version in terms of the coloration with the body being a turquoise shade with white spikes and pink fins. The eyes and gold and black. Lots of detail to the piece all around. One cannot help but be cheered up by these types of pieces! The figure is 2.5 inches tall, 3.75 inches long and 3 inches wide. The piece is in great condition and displays perfct but really having given it a good once over I found one spike with a sliver chip to the side. Impossible to see when on display and very hard to find even if you know it's there. The figurine is marked with the impressed artist initials in the left side bottom edge (impossible to see since they are painted over. Impressed shield to the underside as well as the numbers 2008 over 6 and the green shield mark under a crown with Nymphenburg underneath it as well as Western Germany in green as shown. You can still buy them at the factory but they run about 1750 plus bucks and the colorations are not a nice. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $899
