Faun / Pan Figurine

This is a figurine of a faun made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century. Likely to represent the god Pan - the god of the wild, shepherds and flocks, nature of mountain wilds and rustic music. It is a very rare model to find especially painted! The figure is in the form of a putto with the hoofed feet holding a pan flute while sitting on a tree stump with a small branch growing out the front with a single leaf on it strategically covering his privates. Typical Nymphenburg base with a bit of gold trim to it. A really nice looking figure and it is in perfect condition which is always a plus! The figurine is 4.75 inches tall, 3.125 inches wide and 2.5 inches deep. It is marked underneath with the impressed numbers 242 over 3, the impressed shield mark as well as a painter's number in black 77. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
