Polychrome Falcon Hunter Figurine

This is a figure of a falconer made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century. This is the rare polychrome version! It is of a hunter holding his falcon in one hand and the little feathers on a string piece in the other he uses to train the bird to hunt. The figurine is superbly modelled with lots of detail including a fancy jacket, a hunting horn and a bag while standing on a nice base with a small tree stump with a few leaves on it. One occasionally comes across the white version but the painted one is rather rare to find! The figurine is 7.75 inches tall, 3.25 inches wide and 3.75 inches deep. The piece is marked with the impressed shield mark underneath the base, an impressed number 536 over 2 as well as another impressed shield mark on top of the base plus the painter's mark or design number in red NB1758. The figurine displays nicely but the top of the wings of the bird are both broken off as shown and the feather piece in his hand has a chip as well though that is impossible to see. It is not a terribly hard restoration for a good restorer and it's a very hard to find figurine so worth doing or it looks nice as is. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
