Fancy Pigeon Figurine

This is a fancy pigeon also known as a peacock tail dove made by Nymphenburg in the 20th century. A superb figure of a bird that is superb fancy and looks great on display! The piece was designed in 1953 by the famous Luise Terletzki-Scherf whose animal figurines are highly collectable. It is a really nice figurine and one can easily see where their name comes from! The bird is superbly modeled with lots of detail and hand painted to perfection. The bird is mostly white and grey with a bit of pink. A bit more color to the eyes, beak and feet. The gold base it is standing on make the piece look even more elegant. It is marked with the impressed shield mark to the one back corner of the base as well as on the underneath, the numbers 962 over 8 as well as the green shield stamp with the word Nymphenburg underneath. The initials LTS to the front corner of the base but almost impossible to see. The dove is about 5.375 inches tall, 5.125 inches wide and 3.75 inches deep. The figurine is in superb condition with a small firing crack filled in at the factory. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
