Pelican Figurine

This is a really cute figure of a pelican made by Nymphenburg in the mid 20th century. Not a figurine one sees often so it was another must have :) The bird is superbly modeled with some nice detail and hand painted nicely as well. I especially like the base he is standing on painted in blue with fish in relief all around. Modeled by the famous Luise Terletzky-Scherf that modeled so many animals for them that we all love. Really a special bunch! The figurine is 5 inches tall, 2.75 inches wide and 1.75 inches deep. Marked with the green shield mark with Nymphenburg underneath and impressed shield mark plus the number 724 - the other number is obscured by the green shield mark. The piece is in perfect condition.
