Painted Figural Saltdishes

This is a great pair of dishes made by Nymphenburg in 1965. These were a reissue of an old Frankenthal model which I have never seen. These are usually sold as salt dishes but I think they are more likely to be invalid feeders or medicine spoons. Both are modeled nicely in the shape of a man / lady steering a boat with a dolphin acting as the rudder. Superbly modeled and elegant. They are in great condition with the lady's dolphin's tail being restored. Both are marked with the impressed shield mark, the numbers 1329a or b over 2. Also an impressed shield mark on the side of the boat. They also have the Frankenthal mark of TC under a crown with the year mark 1965 in underglaze blue. The two are about 3.375 inches tall, 1.875 inches wide and 4.75 inches long. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1749
