Starlings Bird Figurine

This is a superb bird figure of a pair of starlings made by Nymphenburg in 1912. A rare signed and dated version from the original period. It was first modelled by Theodor Kärner in 1911 and one of the nicest piece of all the animals he made I think. Still available nowadays for around 11K new. Each bird is wonderfully done with lots of detail and hand painted to perfection. One starling is standing straight up while the other is low to the ground trying to eat a berry. The berries here are greenish and look more like grapes with its leaves while the more modern pieces have them red. The figurine is about 7.5 inches tall, 7 inches long and 4 inches wide. It is in superb condition same as the day it was made. It is marked with the impressed shield mark as well as the incised numbers 327 over the impressed number 3. Signed by the artist who painted it F.Ch. and the year 1912 in black on the back of the base and it also has Kaerners name impressed in the same spot. I think the painter is Fernand Clémand who worked at Nymphenburg from 1912 to 1918. A very rare piece from the original period it was designed in and signed and dated.
