Mischievous Soldier Figurine

This is a fun figure of mischievous soldier made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century. Originally modeled by the famous Franz Anton Bsutelli in the mid 18th century they remade these figures in the late 19th and early 20th century and some of them are still made today. The soldier is laughing at someone else with his head pointed sideway. He is dressed in uniform with both hands on the swords by his side with some greenery on the base and a tree trunk in the back. An early version of this model with the flat base and holes in the tree trunk rather than the underside of the base. The figurine is nicely modeled and left in the white (pure white not off white as the photos show) to show off all that superb detail. The figure has the impressed shield mark to the front of the base as well as underneath with the impressed numbers 169 over 0 as shown. The piece is amazing in perfect condition even the leaves and the bows! Not a figure one sees often at all. The figurine is 8.25 inches tall, 4.75 inches wide and 4.5 inches deep.
