Polychrome Bird Catcher Figurine

This is a figure of four putti using different methods for catching birds made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century. The rare painted version which one almost never sees compared to the white version they also made. The piece is superbly modeled with lots of detail and hand painted to perfection! One putto has a bird cage, one has a trap, one has a stick and some feathers in her hands and the last one is holding an owl and all this is around a nicely detailed tree. There is a bird cage that even has a little bird inside of it that is painted! The figure is 8.5 inches tall and the base is about 5.25 inches in diameter. The piece is marked underneath with the impressed shield mark and the numbers 725 over 0, their green shield mark with the crown above it and Nymphenburg under that and a red painter's mark as shown. The figure is great condition with some damaged to the leaves which is always the case and the tip of a tiny branch is missing as well. It displays nicely and like I said the painted version is very hard to find! Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
