Large Floral Lidded Vase

This is a large lidded container / jar / vase made by Nymphenburg during the Jugendstil / Art Nouveau period of the early 20th century. These designs were usually the work of either Professor Wackerle or Rudolf Sieck. Not sure which one this one here is responsible. It is a simpler design than most. A larger version than most one sees as well. The vase is hand painted with a superb large floral arrangement to the front, a smaller one to the back as well as some butterflies and smaller flowers filling in the rest of the space. Simple thick gold line trim to the top and bottom. The lid has a floral arrangement to the top and gold line around the edge. It's a superb looking piece! These lidded pieces are very collectable and they come in different designs and sizes. Very useful as they can be used as storage containers or vase. This example here is marked underneath with the green shield mark with Nymphenburg underneath, some illegible black marks and a partial impressed shield mark as shown. The piece is in perfect condition but does have some paste flaws as shown. One bumb with a small firing flaw next to it and a tiny black firing spot. as shown. The vase is 10 inches tall and 5.75 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
