Hippo Figurine

This is a superb figurine of a hippopotamus made by Nymphenburg in the mid 20th century. It was designed by the famous Luise Terletzki-Scherf around this time and we all know she made the best pieces around - just pure fun to look at. The hippo was superbly modeled and painted to perfection. It is standing on its legs with a flower in its mouth and some weeds along its back. Looks cute and cuddly this way unlike the menacing real deal. The piece is 2.75 inches tall, about 2 inches wide and 6.75 inches long. The figure is marked with the impressed shield mark underneath with the model number 723 over another number I cannot make out, the artist name L. Scherf as well as the green shield mark with the name Nymphenburg underneath it. The hippo figure is in perfect condition. An amazing piece! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
