Fun Polychrome Parrot Figurine

This is a really fun figurine of a parrot made by Nymphenburg around the mid 20th century right after WWII. The polychrome bird is nicely modeled and hand painted to perfection. It is sitting on a superbly modeled tree trunk on a nice base with a bit of gold trim to it. Some grasses scattered about the base and trunk. One of those pieces that just make you happy when you look at it displayed in your house! The figure is in perfect condition which is amazing given the fragile nature of some of the details. The piece is marked underneath with the impressed shield mark, the numbers 453a over 6 (I think - this number is hard to read!) and the green shield mark under a crown with Nymphenburg underneath it as shown as. Also in green are the words Western Germany. Another impressed shield mark to the flat back of the base as shown. The center of the base was ground flat a bit so it would sit better on a flat surface. The piece is 6.25 inches tall, 5.75 inches wide and about 3.125 inches deep.
