Louis 14th Figurine

This is a rare figurine of King Lousi XIV. Originally it would have been made by Frankenthal in the 18th century but I have not seen that version either. This one here was made by Nymphenburg from the Frankenthal model in 1923. It is a very nice figurine and I suspect it is supposed to be Louis the 14th the Sun King of France. Sure looks like him or better a putto made to look like him. It is a very elaborate piece with lots of nice detail in the modeling as well as lots of hand painted detail. The figure is 7.75 inches tall, 5.1255 inches wide and 3.5 inches deep. He is in great condition with a minor chip to the front bottom edge gilded over to hide it a bit better. Extremely minor and the piece displays perfectly! The piece is marked with the impressed shield mark underneath as well as the underglaze blue CT under a crown with the year mark 1927 underneath.
