Cris de Paris FishSeller Figurine

This is a figure of a street vendor from a Cris de Paris type market verndor series made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century. A superbly modeled figure originally designed by the famous Bustelli who is pretty much the top guy when it comes to porcelain figurines especially from the rococo period. The gentleman is wearing a pair of long wading boots, an orange and yellow coat, a green shirt and a green hat while kneeling on a barrel and holding a fish in his hand. There is a net next to the barrel on top of the base which has the typical shape for Nymphenburg pieces with a bit of gold trim all around and some grasses painted on it. A superb piece that is in perfect condition! The figure is 6.625 inches tall, 3.875 inches wide and 4 inches deep. Marked with the impressed shield mark on the side of the barrel as well as underneath and the impressed numbers 56 over 3. Not a piece one sees often at all so it was a must have for me. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1499
