Dog Plate

This is a rare plate made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century. It is the only plate I have ever seen by them that is handpainted with a scene of a dog. It must be special since it is actually signed by the artist initials HR or HK to the left of the scene. A superb plate typical in shape for Nymphenburg with an unusal decoration. The plate is marked with the impressed shield mark as well as the underglaze green shield mark with the word Nymphenburg underneath but since the plate sagged in the center and wouldn't have sat flat the green mark area was ground down but you can still see the remnants of the green mark. Also an impressed letter P and red initials S4. or h S. not sure which one it is. The piece is in perfect condition. It is 1.25 inches tall and 9.75 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $349
