Dead Deer

This is a figure of a dead deer made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century. It was originally a Frankenthal model and part of the hunting scene set consisting of many different figurines. Nymphenburg re-did these models starting in the late 19th century and still makes some of them today. This figurine is in perfect condition. The deer was tied to the tree with his one hind leg and the neck was slashed so it could bleed out. It is a very well modelled figure and not too small either being 8.75 inches tall, 5 inches wide and 7.5 inches long. Marked underneath with the impressed shield mark and impressed numbers 1131a over 10. Also the underglaze blue Frankenthal lion mark and a black 11. There is another impressed shield mark to the top of the base in the front by the slashed thoat. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
