Commedia Octavio Figurine

This is a figure of Octavio made by Nymphenburg in the mid 20th century after the original 18th century models. He is one of the commedia dell'arte figurines - one of the greatest set of figures ever designed by the famous Bustelli who made the best porcelain figurines ever! Superbly modeled with a nice pose and lots of detail left in the white to show it off perfectly! His counterpart would be Isabella. The two together show a turbulant love story. Octavio I think matched Burattino best from the original commedia figures. He is well dressed with his hat under his left arm and busy trying to seduce Isabella who does not just want a quick fling but a meaningful relationship. Standing on a typical base for these figures. The figurine has the impressed shield mark on right side of the top base as shown and another imrpessed shield mark to the underside with the numbers 55/1 over 11. He is in perfect condition. The figurine is just over 6.25 inches tall, 2.5 inches wide and 3.125 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
