Commedia Dell'Arte Julia Figurine

This is a polychrome figurine of Julia from their famous commedia dell'arte series made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century right they were first remade after the original 18th century models. The Italian comedy figures are one of the greatest set of figures ever designed by the famous Bustelli who happens to have made the best porcelain figurines ever! This figurine is quite hard to find - one of the hardest from this set! Superbly modeled with a nice pose and lots of hand painted details. She is wearing nice skirt and top painted mostly in green with gold trim and black bows. The typical flat base has some scrolls along the edge highlighted in gold and a bit of puce in the back. Amazingly the delicate fingers are all intact! The figure has the impressed shield mark underneath and the impressed number 11 over 0 as well as the green shield under a crown with Nymphenburg under it. Another impressed shield mark to the top side of the base painted in blue with gold trim. She is in great condition but two of the loops of the bow in her hair have been chipped as shown. It is in the back and does not affect the piece when on display. Touch of gold wear to the trim along the base edge. The figure is 8 inches tall, 4.125 inches wide and 4.5 inches deep.
