Circus Poodle Figurine

This is a fun figurine of a poodle dog standing upright on his hind legs on top of a stand performing a circus routine made by Nymphenburg during the mid 20th century right after WWII. A really fun piece that was designed by the famous Terletzki-Scherf who also designed many other circus animals for this series. The dog and triangular base are painted in happy colors and designs with the poodle wearing a top hat and a bow tie. The piece is 5.625 inches tall, 2.25 inches wide and deep. You can still order some of these circus animals today at Nymphenburg but not this one and they are far from cheap. The figure is marked with the impressed shield mark underneath the base as well as the impressed model number and also the green shield mark with the word Nymphenburg and Western Germany. The side of the base has a lightly impressed LTS on it for the designer. The piece is in perfect condition but would have come with a detachable cane which is sadly always missing.
