Chow Chow Dog Figurine

This is a very rare figurine of a chow chow dog made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century. It was first designed by Konrad Schmid during this time. He made some amazing models of dogs and along with his coworker Kaerner they made what are still the best figures out there today I believe. The figurine is superbly modeled and painted and quite large for this maker. Lots of detail to it down to that purple blue tongue that this breed has. He is about 5 inches tall, 65 inches deep and 12.25 inches long. The figure is marked with the impressed shield mark underneath as well as the model number 673 and a 3 as shown. Letters K.S. incised as well. The back is marked with the painter's mark in white though it is hard to see. Quite heavy for one of their peices as well. He is in perfect condition and truly an amazing piece! Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1499
