Cris de Paris Cheese Vendor Figurine

This is a figure of a street vendor from a Cris de Paris type market verndor series made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century. A superbly modeled figure originally designed by the famous Bustelli who is pretty much the top guy when it comes to porcelain figurines especially from the rococo period. The gentleman is wearing a pair of lederhosen with long black boots, an orange coat and a black hat while sitting on a chest filled with cheese with two cheese wheels on top as well as two pieces next to those. He is holding a knife in one hand and has the scale to weight out his goodies by his feet. Typical base for Nymphenburg pieces with a bit of gold trim all around. A superb piece that is in perfect condition! The figure is 6.75 inches tall, 4.625 inches wide and 3.625 inches deep. Marked with the impressed shield mark to the top of the base as well as underneath and the impressed numbers 580 over 3. Not a piece one sees often at all so it was a must have for me. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1499
