Commedia Dell'Arte Capitano

This is a figure of Capitano Spavento made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century shortly after they were first remade after the original 18th century models. He is one of the commedia dell'arte figurines - one of the greatest set of figures ever designed by the famous Bustelli who made the best porcelain figurines ever! Superbly modeled with a nice pose and lots of detail left in the white (pure white not off white as the photos show - the camera is giving me a tough time again) to show it off perfectly! He is wearing a hat with a feather on it and long coat and vest and nice boots. A swords on his side and a dagger in his hand. The figure has the impressed shield mark on left side of the column he is leaning against as well as underneath and the impressed number 272 over 0. He is in great condition witht the dagger in his right hand being broken off. A common issue and not distracting but still it is not perfect. The figurine is 7.375 inches tall, 3.5 inches wide and 4.5 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $699
