Borzoi Dog

This is a superb figure of a Russian Wolfhound or Borzoi dog made by Nymphenburg just after WWII. He was designed by Theodor Kärner whose models of animals are the best in the porcelain world. Superbly modeled and hand painted to perfection. This dog is one of my favorite ones and quite hard to find in good condition with the painter's signature! The figure is 4.75 inches tall, 5.125 inches wide and 11.125 inches long. Marked with the impressed shield mark as well as the arist initials impressed underneath, the green shield mark with the name Nymphenburg underneath as well as Western Germany underneath that. The painter's initials H.S. in black on the back side. It is in perfect condition which is amazing considering the one outstretched leg in front. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1249
