Blanc de Chine Chinoiserie Smoking Figurine

This is a figure of a Asian gentleman made by Nymphenburg in 1960. Nymphenburg made a whole series of these and they are really nice and one does not see them often at all. This one here is a Chinoiserie gentleman smoking a very long pipe while dressed in a nice outfit and standing on a nicely done base with some sort of post with a railing to his side. Off course based on an 18th century Frankenthal model hence the CT mark as well as their mark. This is the blanc de Chine version which I always like because it shows of the detailing of the porcelain. The figure is 5.75 inches tall, 2.25 inches wide and 2.25 inches deep. Marked with the impressed shield mark underneath one of the railing posts as well as underneath, the numbers 1175a over 6 and the CT monogram under the crown as well as the year mark for 1960. The figurine displays perfectly but if you realy look hard you will see that the finial on top of the post has been reglued. Almost impossible to spot even if you know it's there! Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $229
