Juno w/Peacock Figurine

This is a figurine of the goddess juno with her peacock by her side made by Nymphenburg in the late 19th or very early 20th century. Nicely modeled with the putto sitting on a cloud with a cloth wrapped around her middle and flowing out the side. Amazing how Bustelli caught the movement so well in his figures! Left in the white to show off all that nice modelling detail! The figure is 3.5 inches tall, 3 inches wide and 2.75 inches deep. Smaller than most one finds but this looks to be a very early piece when they first redid the original 18th century figurines. They took the molds off the old pieces and when the porcelain shrunk in the firing process they turned out smaller. They completly redid all the figures then to make them their original size. The later pieces would have a closed base and impressed numbers under them which this piece is lacking. The figure is marked with the impressed shield mark on the underside as well as an incised number 96 possibly but its hard to make out! A nice early piece for these reworked pieces! The figurine is in perfect condition. I also have the matching Zeus figurine up for sale! Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $149
