Chinese Priest Figurine

This is a figurine of a Chiense priest made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century. The figure comes from a series of 17 or 18 figurines I think - this being one of the harder to find pieces. Originally it was off course modelled by Bustelli in the 18th century. This is the blanc de chine version but this also comes in a painted version though one rarely ever sees it. I own a few other pieces from this series as well and they are probably my favorite figures besides the commedia dell'Arte off course. The figurine is of an older gentleman dressed in a flowing robe with some nice decorations in the front wearing a neat hat while standing on a typical base. His left hand is perfectly modeled in front while his other hand is holding a book under his arm. A superb piece that is stunning and elegant looking. This figure is amazingly modeled and one can see why Bustelli is still considered the greatest modeler of all time. It is 7.755 inches tall, 3.5 inches wide and 4 inches deep. It is in great condition with the only flaw being that his one little lock of hair has separated from his head during the firing process. It is not visible when on display and does not distract at all. The figurine is marked with the impressed shield mark underneath as well as the impressed numbers 77 and over 0. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
